The Rupp Gallery is located in the newly remodeled Inn Center conveniently situated on Highway 434. Carol Rupp, Angel Fire artist, is the owner and operator of the gallery. Rupp who has a Masters Degree in Art is a lifelong artist who has exhibited and sold her art work for years. She retired after thirty years as an art instructor and moved permanently to Angel Fire to concentrate on her art. She had owned a gallery in Texas and swore she would never own another because it took up so much of her art time. However, after a year of painting in New Mexico she was looking for a space to exhibit and opened a tiny gallery in The Inn Center. She is not sure what happened, but the next thing she knew she had a four room gallery and was representing over twenty other area artists.
Rupp says that things are working out great in the gallery since life in Angel Fire is a lot more relaxed. She has moved a second studio to the back room at the gallery and is getting in a lot of quality painting time. Rupp also likes the cozy atmosphere in the gallery and often has friends and artists drop by to chat.
Currently the original artwork in the gallery is that of Rupp, who works mainly in acrylic and watercolor and has been painting the scenery and wildlife of New Mexico. She has giclee reproductions of her work and that of other artists and photographers. The gallery also has a wide range of other media including pottery, stained glass, jewelry, wood and fiber art.
Rupp is planning on opening a custom framing business and owns Rupp Reproductions, a giclee reproduction business for artists and photographers.
