Where insight, imagination and inspiration fuse into artistic vision.
Sanctuary Studios is a place apart from the everyday world – a special place where new thought and artistic direction are forged in the fires of inspiration. Here work is realized using tools and techniques both ancient and high-tech.
Sanctuary Studios was born out of a dream to live and work in an historic building with real character. Something like... an old church. It also comes out of a philosophy that "home and studio" should literally be a sanctuary apart from the craziness of the world beyond.
R.A. Montibon produces post-digital mixed media work based on his haunting photographic images, often modified and treated by drawing, painting, silk-screening, folding, tearing and/or burning.
Julia Ford is a photographer and mixed-media artist. She produces dreamlike imagery using digital pinhole photography and other experimental techniques. She also creates arresting mixed-media works in a variety of found and treated materials.
Rita-T is an abstract painter who paints in bold, textured swaths of light and color. She produces beautiful acrylic paintings with surfaces scratched through to reveal hints of complex under-paintings. Her abstract paintings arise from the inner depths of her life - the pain of loss, beautiful memories, sadness and joy.
QSC/JBL sound reinforcement system, the Sanctuary can host live music as well as lectures, workshops, panel discussions and other public meetings.
A studio lighting system is also being installed to accommodate small- to mid-sized studio shoots including tabletop and fashion photography, art portraits and custom motorcycle photography. The front ramp and double-doors handles load-in duties.
The Sanctuary is also available as a location for film, television or commercial productions and special events. The Sanctuary can easily accommodate up to 60 people seated.
