This lovely store is operated by owner and jeweler Andrea Gottschalk. Native to Germany, Andrea was trained in the old European style of goldsmithing since she was sixteen. She hand fabricates each piece through various techniques with hand tools using little or no prefabricated pieces. She is committed to paying close attention to detail and her German training taught her to have pride in customer satisfaction by producing work of high quality. Each piece she creates is skillfully crafted reflecting over twenty years professional experience. Andrea works on custom designs and repairs in any metal or stone. You can design your dream piece with your own gemstones and she will work with your ideas and budget to find the best strategy.
Her own style of jewelry design is mostly contemporary incorporating complex soldering work, various stone setting techniques, inlay and surface texturing. One of her favorite jewelry looks is the combination of different colored metals in one piece. She alsoloves to use gemstones in their natural uncut, rough state shaped to fit into a setting to showcase their natural beauty. Andrea will find the same excitement in creating a very simple silver ring or a masterpiece in gold and diamonds since jewelry making is her passion and provides her with joy.
Aside from her own work she features many other area artists and their work, such as Maggie Moser’s southwestern designs, rustic silver and copper jewelry by Shelly Birch, Julie Kandyba’s gemstone necklaces, Michelle Moleski’s hand-made pine needle baskets and revolving wall exhibits.
